Sevengill Shark ID Project
This is a long-term population dynamics study using citizen science divers to upload high quality photographs and video to be analysed by the pattern recognition algorithms contained in 'Wildbook,' a web-based application for Wildlife data management, designed by Jason Holmberg, who originally developed it for use with Whale sharks.1
By analysing the freckling pattern present on the dorsal area in most adult Sevengill sharks, we hope to identify individual animals which are returning to the San Diego area from year to year.2
